Dennis’ son Justin joined him, John and Richard today for an 8.37 mile ride on the Black Sulphur Spring Trail, up Sugar Camp Hollow, around the Table Rock trail, and back down the Bone Breaker.

Total distance: 8.37 miles
moving time: 1 hour, 45 minutes

April 18-20, SCHIMBA paddles and rides in Alabama

The first SCHIMBA out of town expedition of 2008 was this weekend.

I tried to ride yesterday afternoon, but broke my derailleur hanger about 100 yards down the trail.  We still had a great cookout and cowboy songfest at Rogers’ Pond:

It appears that little riding or trail work was done last week while I was gone to Chicago for a Forest Landowners Association meeting. I could not get anyone out Saturday either so I did some trail work, and Sunday I just did a solo ride on the Graham Church trail from the Cabin.

Sunday, April 6, SCHIMBA rides again (in the mud)

Cabin fever finally overcame the reluctance to ride in the mud. 70+ degree weather with sunshine helped also. Still we had only a half club with John, Dennis, and Randy meeting at 3 pm and riding the Sulphur Spring, Holt Cemetery, and Worley Bottom loops and then crossing the creek and riding the [...]

Saturday, April 5, the trails aren’t just wet, they are under water. The bridge survived. Beaver and a frog.

The TVA gage on Airport Road showed 2500 cubic feet per second yesterday.  Today it is back down to 1400, but normal is about 70.
