April 14, back from Chicago

April 14th, 2008

It appears that little riding or trail work was done last week while I was gone to Chicago for a Forest Landowners Association meeting. I could not get anyone out Saturday either so I did some trail work, and Sunday I just did a solo ride on the Graham Church trail from the Cabin.

Total distance was 4.92 miles. moving time 1 hr, 8 min. Total ascent 376′. The weather was cool, but not really that bad and I warmed up afterward in the sauna. I also got to take my time and observe the flowers and mushrooms. Dogwoods are in full bloom and I even found a patch of Morel Mushrooms. Look at the pictures below:

  • family lore suggests that one decline the first meal of mushrooms, in case they are in short supply, but to join in the second, if there is one.
