SCHIMBA Ride on Sunday, Oct. 5
October 5th, 2008
Richard Rogers, Randy Stanfield, and I were back on the trail today for an 8.43 mile ride to the Table Rock trail on English Creek and Slick Rock Ford at David Seaton’s cabin. We returned by the Sugar Camp Hollow trail. Absent were Dennis Turnbo who still has a broken ankle, Ian Orford who hurt his knee at the Nantahala, and Andrew Welch who is in Texas working. Moving time was 1 hour 51 min, stopped 31 min, total ascent 739 feet. Here is the map:
I also rode by myself on Saturday returning by the Bonebreaker Trail shown in green.

Here are some pictures:
I am celebrating the Vanderbilt victory over Auburn this week and Old Miss two weeks ago by wearing my Vanderbilt jersey. Vandy, 5-0, is now rated #13 in the top 25:
English Creek waterfall and Randy and Richard crossing the Slick Rock Ford. I learned my lesson here last year when I did the split and was out of action for several weeks:
Another stop to enjoy wildflowers along the trail:
After the ride we did some work on the SCHIMBA Wagon, but still no completion date in sight:
I got some good butterfly pictures yesterday:
E. C. sent us this picture of Andrew from Texas:
