SCHIMBA Rides again at Sipsey, Nov 7-9, 2008

November 10th, 2008

Richard, John, Randy, and Ian made another expedition to the Bankhead National Forest for a hike and mt. bike ride last weekend.  Some people learned to bring winter sleeping bags for November campouts.  No accidents. (correction: 1 accident, Ian says he did a 12 endo and nearly broke his arm, but no ER visits or mechanical damage)

We rode the Yellow Trail on Sunday.  11 miles with 1000 feet of total ascent. We rode the Blue Trail back in April.

This shows the location of the campground on Brushy Lake:

Here is one route to Bankhead from Savannah.  We also go through Florence.

  • Hi John, I’m sorry you don’t count my 12ft endo as an accident. Nearly broke my arm! Cheers, Ian

  • I am jealous. I wish I could’ve been there.
